Sense and Sensibility Patterns, one of the best for Nineteenth Century costume!

Jessamyn’s Regency Costume Companion

Folkwear pattern for the Empire Dress

The Costumer’s Manifesto, the history timeline…some links are bad, but lots still there.

Kent State University Museum website, Fashion on the Ohio Frontier, and the Age of Nudity.  Check out the beautiful new website!

Patterns of Time.  This has just about every pattern made for historic dress.  Many companies are represented, including those above, although it can be difficult to identify which company.  Be aware that Reconstructing History patterns (RC code ID on this website) are made from a single garment, and although they show a size range, they have simply used a computer program to enlarge (or shrink) each pattern piece equally around all edges, not graded as designed patterns are done.

Cathy Decker’s Regency Fashion Page  Lots of great information here!  Inside this site is a page on Nicholas Heideloff, 1794-1803 fashions.

Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild (San Francisco)   This has helpful reviews by people who have made many of these patterns.

Kannik’s Korner   Best for 1750-1820.  Super patterns well designed and workshop tested.

Past Patterns  From 1789-1940.  Sandra Roos Altman has designed multisized patterns from extant historic garments, as well as presenting vintage patterns from contemporary documents.  The latter tend to be one-sized patterns.   The wide range presents many ideas for recreation.

The Kyoto Costume Institute Archives   Wonderful collections, easily accessible!

The Victoria and Albert Museum…..a very extensive collections catalogue, with a rather complex search organ….good luck!
